Empty Mind (2004)
Empty mind is a meditative film that explores the relationship between life and water by focussing on martial arts. Empty Mind represents different frames of mind and their influences on physical energy; it also reflects on the cyclical ever-changing aspects of the water cycle. Empty Mind was partly inspired by the following words, which have been attributed to Bruce Lee. “Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless like water. If you put water in a cup it becomes the cup, if you put water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot….Now water can flow or it can crash! Be water my friend!”
Empty Mind was directed, produced and edited by Fi

Passing (a
collaboration with momentum arts) (Feb 2004)
Passing was a public video installation, which transformed a redundant
retail outlet’s glass front into screens, projecting landscapes
of themed moving images for a diverse audience passing through Nottingham
city centre over the winter evenings. Taking nature’s elemental
shapes such as circles and waves, this work represented our relationship
and connection with the rest of the natural world, exploring the notion
of time and space. Fi contributed both as a video artist and project
manager.

Waterways
(may 2004)
This was an outdoor exhibition of concepts, photographs and products from
the members of the first Creative Collaborations course. The exhibition
took the form of a large scale projection using 2 state of the art projectors
(piggy back) from the Waterfront Bar onto the side of the Waterways building
in Nottingham. Live entertainment was also complemented later on in the
evening by a live camera link to the outdoor projectons. Fi produced
the video showreel for the event as well as contributing images.
